I agree raise the lip and make them smaller...they look very large & open....my girls seem to like the little curtains that I put up....it's a privacy thing, I think...LOL Good Luck....

Sorry about your neighbor's dog attack....I feel your pain... lost 6 of my 10 nice, fat friendly hens that had just started laying to my neighbor's dog earlier this spring.....he gave the dog away finally (after I caught the dog down here twice more) but the girls did take a few days to get back...

Not sure if anyone else has tried them for night predators, but I have 4 of the Nite guard solar lights, one on each corner of our coop and have had absolutely no problems with any predators (except neighbors dog during the day).....yes, I think the coop is pretty secure and they are in at dark...

Anyone know what kind of hen would lay a light pinkish colored egg.....she was a drop off so don't really know anything about her, very friendly probably a pet or kids project that got old.....anyway she has greenish/grey legs and the coloring of a dark EE....does an EE not have the ear muffs...

Not sure what is going on with my girls...I have 4 hens...one day I got 5 eggs and the next 6 eggs........I do have a white heat light that is on 24-7....maybe it's too much but they all seem really healthy.....it's been around 30 at night so it's not too bad...most days I get 4 for 4.......they...
