    Growing fodder for chickens

Okay, I'm really confused because first you said the protein doesn't increase and then you said you sprout your own and after day 8 is when the protein increases. Everything I have read about fodder says to feed between days 7-10. And, your very own resources say: Chelation of Minerals Shipard...

    Growing fodder for chickens

I'm new to growing fodder. So far, it's the coolest thing. I'm just wondering, I have 62 chickens, how much fodder should I put out each day for them? What size pan or how many pounds of fodder per day, any info would be great. I don't want to completely replace their feed but I do want to cut...

This is awesome. I also free range my meaties and it's the best chicken I have ever eaten. I put apple cider vinegar in their water and that helps a great deal with all the so called problems others have with meaties. Thank you for writing this.

Well, she laid a perfect egg today. Thanks for your concern. And, yes I actually took the time to read about egg drop syndrome before responding to your post. So, yes from what I read. She has always been the leader of the group and lets the others know she is...that is what I call sassy...

WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

From what I've read about egg drop syndrome the eggs are Shelless or thin shelled. Her eggs are not Shelless and the shell isn't thin. It's more just uneven. She is fine and sassy so I'll keep an eye on her. I'm pretty sure she is having a soft moult. Time will tell.

WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

Well, after reading an article on here about moulting I'm pretty sure she is. It showed a picture of a soft moult and I'm sure that is what's going on. She used to lay perfect big brown eggs. She actually didn't lay yesterday or today. So, hopefully when she is done moulting she'll start...

She is just one year old. When they moult do they lose feathers? Because she hasn't lost any feathers. She is full and beautiful with feathers. I guess I need to find out more about moulting.

WEIRD or ODD Eggs pics!!!! :)

One of my hens has consistently for about 2 maybe 3 weeks laid eggs that look just like those. She is an Isa Brown. Is she not getting something she needs I feed Grahms Organic layer mesh and add grit, oyster shell and omega. She free ranges about 5 to 7 hours a day depending on my schedule.

Our male duck severely injured one of our chickens. UPDATED WITH PICS **CAUTION**

The pedilyte seems like a good idea. I think I am going to offer her yogurt tomorrow? I've been putting the small soft parts of her layer mesh in water and teaspooning it to her several times a day. She is doing sooo much better. The Vetercyn works well! I would recommend it to anyone! I...
