Chickens are easiest to shoot under studio lights, they usually stand pretty still... well, most of the time.
Our barred rocks, Lucy and Ethel, started laying... not sure which one laid this first egg. You can read about their antics on my blog (PortlandPeeps.blogspot.com). They're living up to their namesakes.

We have a aussie/border mix who is awesome with our chickens. She seems to think they need herding, but she's very protective of them. She does the same thing Kittymomma mentions... when she decides it's time for them to go to another spot in the yard, she herds them there. Best. Dog. Ever.
My guess is that they'll take a dust bath when they decide it's time to do so. Mine love to bury themselves in the garden soil on sunny days... unfortunately, we haven't had many sunny days lately.
