    How old are they? My previous flock were older (4 months old) and they took to the roosts/perches pretty fast. My new flock is only about 5 weeks old now and are just starting to use the perches.

    my chickens started laying and Ive started eatting... It sure seems to me that the shells are much harder to crack than the store bought eggs. Dont think its a problem cause they sure taste good, just an observation. Anyone else notice this?

    LOL I have 2 golf balls in the nest and I have 1 hen that goes in there every day, rearranges everything sits for a bit, then goes and lays her egg under an ornamental grass!

    27 weeks and no eggs

    My ladies went almost 8 months with no eggs. I figured with the hot weather no bid deal its to be expected. Then I started hearing the egg song from several of them and one was even getting in the nest box but still no eggs. Or so I thought! Until I found they had been stashing them inside...

    .22lr (ruger 10/22 or a lever action) are great! 12 gauge. I use my 870 police shotgun and I keep a variety of shells from slugs, 00, 000, #4, #7 those are pretty versatile weapons, but I have some for: longer distances also 30-06 and .308 shorter distances 9mm 40s&w and 22lr

    I noticed my White Rock has some hard black spots on her comb. I didnt see them last week when I checked her but today... They dont seem to be bothering her and she isnt acting any different. Im thinking its the heat here in N. Texas but not sure. Any ideas?

    Ours are 20weeks and no eggs. Ive told my wife if they dont start laying, they may start smoking (or frying) just kidding of course!
