Not sure if she's laying. All my existing hens give me brown eggs but I had a white egg show up yesterday. It is either hers or a new pullet just starting to lay. The only thing is...the white egg I found was a normal to small size egg....not a tiny 1st egg that a pullet would lay, but I can't...

Seems to me that if she was going to lay that she would have started by now. There are always exceptions to the rules though. I've never heard of a hen never laying. Keep us posted.

I have 15 hens. (6 a year old, 1 - 9 months old, 2 - 6 months old, and 6 older hens). My younger hens were laying on a regular basis and my older hens laying 2 to 3 times a week. How old is the hen. If she is young, it just may take her some time to start laying.

Question on moving my broody hen. In the past I've moved broodies by placing them in a box at night. My current broody has been a very flighty hen when it comes to being disturbed. I wasn't sure how she would do sitting on eggs but she lets me turn the eggs under her and get them to candle...

I feel that I will have to move them if not shortly after hatch because the nest is so far off the floor. If the chicks fall out it could kill them or they wouldn't be able to get back into the nest for sure.
