So I ordered chicks from the Welp hatchery. It was a disaster...over half arrived dead and I lost more after that but that's a story for another day. Anyway... From that order I only ended up with one Red Shouldered Yokohama. I wanted a rooster of this breed super bad. I bet it is a hen but...
I only have the two. I think I was told they are a year old. One is pure white and the black one has blue and green feathers in his wings. They have the bluish tint to their lobes and comb.
I got these roosters at the sale barn. I was told they are silkies. They don't have the puff on top of their heads though. I wonder if they got picked on by other chickens and plucked? Maybe they'll grow back or do you think they are mixed? I don't mind either way... they are cute and both...
Aren't silkies supposed to have a puff on top of their head? Do you suppose these guys got plucked? Do you think they will grow back in or are they a mixed breed?
He is totally healthly. Beak is fine. He was born the end of may. He isn't skinny just smaller and I noticed the slower feathers. He is active love to roost.

I guess my last old rooster wasn't much of a gentlemen. I never saw him do any of those things. These new guys I believe are younger (don't know..bought at sale barn). My hens are babies yet... All born the end of May. I had the roosters a week before I introduced my chicks. Its the black...
