they are fabulous and once they get laying they lay well.
i believe there are quite a few different colours like cuckoo, red, white and some of them have a pea comb, i have the silver-grey type.
it sounds like she is broody,make sure that there is not any eggs under her
some hens will pretend to lay in a nestbox but them don't lay an egg
put your hand under her and see if it is warm and then look to see if see riggles to try and warm your hand up,if so she is broody.

the best age to show d'uccle is at the age of two years,the mottles in their feathers have developed, but if you show them after the age of 3-4 they get too many mottles and are too old for showing
