    My Tom lost his snood... went from long red and vibrant to being gone.... His wattle isn't vibrant red and big anymore either. Any ideas? He's not drumming or being all manly all of the sudden, he actually looks like a hen now.

    I laughed when I saw this even tho it's years old... same thing happened to us last night, went to put our last gurl to bed and husband saw in the corner of the coop a possum... He pulled out his gun and shot him... wow if we didn't have to put our last gurl who by the way stayed out too late to...

    Our 5 chickens have an 8x6 coop, not insulated. 3 windows that I cover in plastic through the winter. Ground is dirt with bedding scattered. I leave our 2 brooder lights on in the coop and since I've done that they started laying again and basically that's the reason I put the lights on and also...
  5. * Our Chicken Coop, this yard is for the chickens although they do share the yard and coop with a rabbit and the dogs come in and visit too. In the winter we put thick plastic over the windows and heat lamps back inside as we had below freezing temps. yard ; pvc pipe and chicken wire. Has sustained wind gust of 70mph no problem. path is halved old wheels from hand lines from a neighbors alfalfa field. Skulls are old bulls found on the ranch. Inside the coop is sectioned off from Turkeys we raised, they had their own yard as well on other side which now since we sold out for Thanksgiving we set it up for the dogs to use so they too stay warm and dry when they have to be put out.

    Anyone order from Farwest hatchery out of Oregon??

    Just talked to Terry again....(seems the number above that someone posted works and goes straight to Terry himself) was told he will send me out a cashiers check today... do I believe him? I've been told a lot of things... was even told he has others due refunds but no way to get a hold of them...
