what sex are these golden Brahma chicks

Have 2 golden brahmas at 8 weeks old and want to know what sex they are. The darker one has longer legs a more developed comb and dark feathers. The one I think is a hen is light brown and stands more like a hen. Photos below.

    question about natural hatching.

Yeh well the hen is isolated and has easy access to food and water and it certainly hasn't been cold here. Tho it's Ireland so it hasn't been overly warm either lol. Very disappointed as it's my second unsuccessful attempt at hatching 6 eggs each time. Guess I've learned my lesson about buying...

    question about natural hatching.

I have a broody sitting on eggs and it's day 22. Are there any signs I can look for they may be hatching as I'm beyond impatient. This morning she has two eggs poking out from under her about half the eggs exposed. She at no stage has had any that were visible. Is this a sign of anything?

How long do hens stay broody?

Surely their metabolic rate slows and they come out once a day and eat and drink what they need?

How long do hens stay broody?

My Silkie has been sitting 4 weeks now (3 of those on eggs of which none have hatched) would it be cruel to give her another batch of fertile eggs? I reckon sitting and getting a few chicks would be better than forcing her out of broodiness.

    Day 24 advice

Thanks for the reply. Well I haven't heard any cheeping but where she is its hard to hear anything as there's a pigeon and starling nest nearby that have plenty of cheeps. I candled on day 21 and it's completely dark with no visible air gap. Perhaps she used.up the air gap and died. Thanks for...

    Day 24 advice

Out of 6 eggs I gave my broody only one has shown to be viable. Today is day 24 and I'm not holding out much hope. What stage should I give up on it. Any advice on getting my hen out of being broody? Would it be cruel to.give her more eggs and let her sit on?

    overdue eggs.

Hatch day was supposed to be yesterday. As it is my first time I'm incredibly impatient and worried I'm not going to get any at all. I have a broody sitting on them. How often do.they go over 21 days, is this normal. Are there any signs my broody hen will show when they are about to hatch?
