I have a dozen year old hens and they all just suddenly stopped laying in their nesting boxes. They free range my property all day and I have an egg hunt everyday. But they seem to all lay in the same place just a different place every day. Any advice?
I have 6 Pekin and 5 Kahki but 2 of the Kahki look almost bluish, might be hard to see in the picture. They definitely range from dark to the lighter blue/grey color. Is that normal? Are they truly Kahki Cambells?
I have some year old heritage breed hens, that I want to replace with a higher production egg layer. Are the year old hens going to be ok to eat. I've heard that they can be tough but only being a year old is that still too old?
I went to collect my eggs this morning and found egg shells and then subsequently dropped an egg on the coop floor and the girls came running to pick at it. I'm wondering if this means they are going to eat all my eggs or could it be an isolated incident?

I just had my Cornish X's processed. I just ordered 20 barred rocks and plan on processing 14 and keeping 6 for laying. How long does it take for barred rocks to be table ready?
