    Birchen Marans Thread

Also, since someone asked, yes we use this boy to improve the egg color & gold markings in our olive eggers, but also keep a pure line of 'project' marans. Their color to me means they are a project - NOT that we are mixing in any other breeds into our Maran stock.

This pic is a little blurry and his colors are bleached from the lighting but he's in a more normal pose. Is this what you mean on the topline issue?

    Birchen Marans Thread

I want to learn more about them and improve them as I go. I simply enjoy gaining new knoledge and the challenge of breeding a better bird. I know to a lot of you it seems wasted effort since this color can't be shown and most other breeders wouldn't want them. But simply it is something I enjoy...

    Birchen Marans Thread

I know most people hate the gold color and breed away from it...AND that it is not correct for Marans. Large Fowl Cochin Thread

I mean not a speck of blue...

I thought I had all the predators in mind when I built my coop, but sadly didn't see this one coming!

I know how hard the next few weeks/months will be for both of you but just try to stay focused on what has to be done NOW. Hospice is a wonderful and helpfull group, so dont be afraid to ask them for whatever you need. As my Dad was goimg through this, God sent us an angel in the form of his...

Hello! New from the Ozarks (Missouri)

Hello all! Thanks for providing such a great resource! I've been lurking and learning for a while and just love this site! We started our chicken adventure last year with one hen and three little chicks that we traded a neighbor for. Last week we brought home 8 chicks that brought our total up...
