I finally got my first chicks!!

I just brought home 4 chicks. They are all different and I'm leaving them alone to settle in ( I do look at them frequently cause they are so dang cute). I used a wire dog cage, and lined the bottom edge with cardboard to keep the mess in. They have been sleeping since I brought them home. They...

Thank you. Those would definitely be an option. I just didn't know if there were any local people who sold chicks that I could pick up. It'll be my first chickens, I just want to see/learn as much as possible. :)

Where can I get chicks, preferably local? I'm in Medford

I am moving back to Medford in 12 days, and I want to know as much as possible before I can get some chicks. I want to know where I can get day old chicks? I would prefer chicks I can pick up that were raised and loved locally. Also I was thinking 4 or 5 chicks, I'm not sure if that matters:)...

Turning this playhouse into a chicken coop. Idea's/ recommendations?

Thank you so much for all the great ideas. I wish I could lift it, but it is ridiculously heavy. I think i'll just have to put up some sort of shade canopy until I can plant some trees for shade (surrounded my chicken wire of course). It has 3 windows and the door. I was thinking of making an...

Turning this playhouse into a chicken coop. Idea's/ recommendations?

I'm turning this playhouse into a chicken coop for 4 chickens. This coop will be inside a protected run. Thank you in advance for any ideas! I want to make this a chicken haven. I'm planning on having a poo board. To help with draft should I put plywood on the inside walls? I'll do anything to...

    Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Thank you so much. Both your girls are beautiful. My husband would only eat white eggs, so ill definitely have to get a leghorn. Your australorpe's feathers are so pretty with the sun hitting her. I want 4 chickens, and so far, these two kinds are topping my list.
