Exterior demensions are 40" wide by 12 ft long. 50 inches tall at the slopes and over 6 ft at the peak. The laying boxes will be recessed into the existing shed so we can get the eggs without having to go in the coop
We take a skill saw and cut the ends off on both sides leaving only the middle support. We then stand the pallet up and use a little elbow grease to work the boards back and forth essentially twisting the nails until they break. Works like a charm if you don't have a saw zaw with a metal blade
Me and my girlfriend have 10 chicks. 6 reds and 4 bantams. I am a full time student and needed a cheap alternative to building an expensive coop. We are going to add some stuff still to it but it turned out pretty well I think. Here's some additional photos
