    Cats

We've had chickens for a few years and I've read that you can have cats live in your coup. My question is where/how do you provide an access that the cat can come/go but will be inaccessible to most predictors? Chickens won't go in the coop at night.

Our chickens have free ranged for about 6 weeks without a hitch. The last two nights they won't go in at night, even well after dark. I have two windows open and haven't had the lamps on for a while. It's about 60 degrees when the sun goes down.

    Baby Chicks/Laying Hen

I currently have 1 adult laying hen and am getting 50 chicks this Friday. For brooders I'm using two 100 gallon watering tubs. My question is do I need to worry about my hen going into the brooders and taking their food or killing them?

    Sprouting, When?

This will be our first year rasing chickens and my question is, does anyone know at what age I can start feeding chicks sprouted wheat/oats? I would assume it could be earlier than the grower feed since it is more of a plant than a whole grain. Will chicks eat things they can't handle or will...
