I wondered the same. Why say that to us? I think it was all out of ignorance. We are trying to move to a more rural are so hopefully we won't have this problem anymore. But we will just be avoiding the neighbor as best we can until then. Bamboo is a great idea!

Food/water in coop or in run?

Well, we built our run to be partially covered. We keep the food & water under the covered side. But when it rains, we still throw a tarp over the coop and run just to be safe.

Can ducks and chickens go in the same coop?

I also have five hens and two ducks. We have had no problems keeping them together. They are about 6 weeks old now, and we just built a 4x8 run for them. They also get to freely roam the yard while I'm outside though. I like to give the ducks extra time outside the coop/run whenever I can. I...

Food/water in coop or in run?

Hi, I have five hens as well. At first we kept the food and water in the coop, but now everything is outside in the run. Less mess and more room in the coop. I haven't noticed any problems with it, they seem to travel back and forth as they please.

My husband did turn his old LEGO box into out feeder and a pallet into a coop. But then he started using the supplies meant for my camper to build a run, but that's okay...

Yeah, my husband and I started discussing the privacy fence idea yesterday. @MaryMouse Yikes!! That's definitely a nosy neighbor problem! I couldn't take that either.

So my family was given some baby chicks and ducks as an Easter gift. They were so cute and small...but that didn't last long. One week they were living the life of luxury in their spacious brooding house we built for them, then all of a sudden they needed even more room! (mainly the ducks) So...
