I had chickens for 2 years...they quit laying and my health took a downturn...so closed up shop, so to speak....Well,....Now my health is improved and I wanna try my luck at raising some quail for a change.
Should I order chicks, or try to start with eggs?? I have never incubatored any...
WEll...after reading all these post, I feel much better knowing I am not doing anything ''wrong''.
Guess it is just a long molting period and I will just have to be patient and be thankful for the eggs that I am getting !! I agree, we need a ''Hens who are not laying Club'' right now.....LOL!!

Out of my 18 hens who are 18 months old .....I got 2 or 3 a day this past week ....last month I was getting 6-8 ....before that 12-14... .before that 16-17....

I should mention I ordered these hens my self..they are 18 months old.....they were egg laying machines for awhile and now...zip.

I don't take food or drink into the coop...usually can not get through the door...they all come to trip the ole lady and take whatever she has in her hands. Daisy pecks...she gets me on my arms and legs...DH is lucky he wears jeans to the coop...I have fresh peck marks every...
