Thank you.
I can't imagine culling them, so I will keep a closed flock.
I am so so good about bio security too. It just goes to show that anyone's flock is at risk.
I hope all goes well for you!
I just learned that one of my flocks tested positive for MG. :(
They may also have cocci.
Can I mix Corid and Tylan together in their water?
Any advice at the point is greatly appreciated!
I live in NH as well and having some issues with facial swelling. I found an excellent Avian Vet in Portsmouth. My Rooster tested negative for MG but has now been on 2 rounds of antibiotics. Neither has helped. I have an appointment with him on the 15th to have more blood work and cultures done...
I'm sure she is lonely. I have a friend for mine
But they are only together at night. Her friend
Pecks at her eyes during the day, if I leave them
Together. They are happy to be together at night
Though. You should make sure that she still gets plenty
Of sun. They need it to be healthy.
When I...
It reply by accident. I trim the lower part for him about every other month when I notice it's getting to long. I use a very sharp pair of dog nail clippers. You can see the white part growing out that needs to be cut.
How old is she? I have a blind little lady about 3 months old. She is actually the largest out of all of them. She has a friend who had a broken leg and helps her out by calling to her. She was getting bullied so I put the 2 together. The key is not having a huge area and putting the food and...
That's great that you are at least getting something in her! Keep doing it until the Corid comes. The faster you can get Corid in her the better. I prefer the liquid. If she won't drink the Corid / water mixture, you will have to syringe that into her too until she will drink enough on her own.
I would order the corid and have it shipped overnight through amazon. If you ordered it today from them it would be there by Tuesday. In the mean time do you have a syringe you could use to get some buttermilk or yogurt into her. Just put a tiny bit in here mouth at a time and give her time to...
I have a blind chick that is 10 weeks old. She is a beautiful partridge cochin. At about 3 weeks I had to separate her From the rest but there was another one who was tiny, so I put the two of them together. They were both getting picked on. They are best girlfriends now! I found it best to...
Wanted to give everyone an update on Izzy. I brought her to the specialist last week and it's amazing how much better she looks!!! I couldn't believe it when I picked her up about 5 hours later. For anyone who lives in New England, I would highly recommend Dr.Fulton in Portsmouth. She also...
I already emailed the Vet pictures and plan on calling first thing in the morning, to see what she suggests. I will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed!
Good point!
How long did it take for yours to heal?
We have an Avian specialist about 2 1/2 hours from here, she is wonderful. I'm wondering if I should take Izzy in to see her. I'm worried about infection since it is so deep.
Thank you for the advice. She is the head hen and that rooster is know gone as he became very aggressive towards me as well. I have been keeping a very close eye on her and have not seen any of the others picking at it. She is in with a small flick of 4 including herself. But I have noticed that...
