Ah. Thanks :)
She was quick to break her broodiness, I popped her in the cage yesterday morning and she laid an egg this morning so I let her out and she's not been near the boxes since :)
Another broody chookie. Are black bantum leghorns more prone to being clucky? I have three and I swear they go broody at least once every 3 weeks. I felt awful moving her to a broody breaker but we're not finished building the baby safe pen so can't leave her there with the eggs. It looked so...
For the time being we're keeping the eggs purely for eating purposes. Oce I've finished the coop there will be two separate sections, Breeding side and laying side so eventually we will keep the fertile eggs with the hens and let them do the work
Weather at the moment is warm ish during the day...
We've got a rooster in with the girls yes, He's only 4 months old but I've seen him having a go at some of the girls, Do they fire blanks for a short period before they become fertile? Do I need to keep the eggs in the fridge or the pantry would still be ok?

Hubby saved the day lol. Came home from work and fixed it for me :) The door now doesn't sag but I'm going to add another brace to ensure it won't happen in the future :)
Thanks!
Cool, That's what I'm thinking, The frame of the door is a rectangle with a support beam across the middle, If I make the diagonal brace and screw it from the middle support to the edge where the hinges are that should then hold it?
Ok, So I'm constructing the door to my coop and so far all is well except my door is sagging down (the side opposite the hinges). Is there a way I can pull it up or brace the door to stop the sag? I've already tried moving the hinge and that hasn't stopped the sag. I was thinking a beam from the...
All these chicken houses look awesome!
I'm itching to share photos but I've only built two of the side frames at the moment. Need to buy more wood and concrete today to start the foundations :)
