My Silkie hatch two chicks from five eggs. She did well the first two weeks but last night did not sit with them. Had one die this morning. Should I bring the other in to the brooder? I currently have a batch in there roughly the same age. Give or take a day or two.

Ideal is my go to but they didn’t have all the breeds I wanted. Have an order with them for May shipment and one from mypetchicken for July. Hopefully I can unload some of the chicks from mypetchicken. Their shipping was high unless I ordered 15 chicks.

Are there any hatcheries similar to ideal that have no minimum? I usually use them but the breeds I want won’t be available until later this year.
