    Help! Turkey has huge swollen area on foot! - UPDATED.

    WE had a hen with a big bump at the base of her toes and it was bumblefoot. I did lots of research on here and had lots of advice on how to treat. We were successful at treating her. So do some research it helps a bunch.

    We have our food stored in our garage and the chickens know it. So I would definately try to keep them away from your house, because they do tend to poo everywhere. And that causes quite a mess. Plus flies at this time of year.

    Bumblefoot

    We had the same problem... we removed the scab from bottom of foot... then the swellling on the top got worse...hubby finally helped me and he just made a small cut at the top of the bump and at the bottom of bump and bingo this big ol thing came out.

    Finally treated our bumblefoot hen

    Bumblefoot help

    We have a hen with a case of bumblefoot. We brought her in and soaked foot, removed scab, and removed some yellow stuff. Cleaned good and used antibiotic cream and wrapped. What I have read is some say do antibiotics, and about half say it won't help. How long does it take swelling to go down...

    Limping hen

    We have a year old hen who is limping. She has a bump between her toes that is red and swollen. We have been cleaning and putting antibiotic cream on the last few days. She's eating fine, but walks with a pretty bad limp. Could it be a broken toe, or bumblefoot???? And what to do for it. thanks

    We have red sex link and black sex link they lay everyday and out of 50 only 8 are broody.... so that's pretty darn good. They are sweet girls and reliable. We get about 42 eggs a day!!!!
