Theresa...
I stand corrected......you have done a great job getting to where you are in such a short time.....but I am betting you have a way better understanding of the genetics of how to build a Sizzle than me and 95% of the people out there ......actually what the Sizzle line needs is...
Faerie...
the breeder lady I got my chicks from showed me how she plucked the feathers from around their eyes
she just scooped up the chicken and started her grooming... chicken didn't seem to mind much at all
I think they all have the downy feathers by their eyes...but I'm new to this all
so...
Sonderah......I totally know what you mean!!
Faerie... your Sizzle roo is so handsome!!....and yes if the feathers are getting in the way of him seeing you should just pluck them.....it wont hurt him and he shouldn't mind at all!!
my 6 babies just moved from the brooder to their new home...a 6 x 12 ft pen with a 4 x 4 ft hen house!!
they are about 7 weeks old but the chicken parent in me still put a little heat in their coop....

there is no such thing as a silkied sizzle...if it looks like a silkie it is a silkie.....if it has barbed feathers it a sizzle......smooth or frizzled
I think that one is a silkie...and thay are all cuties!!
the 2 in the front are friz Sizzles the white one in the back looks like friz Silkie cant tell the other Black one in the pic
I'm guessing they came from a Sizzle /Silkie pairing ...which is very common.....all should have the black skin and 5 toes
Sizzles should look the same as Silkies...
so if I breed friz Sizzle to smooth Sizzle I will get all Sizzles chicks, a mix of smooth and friz
and if I breed my friz Sizzle with a smooth Silkie I will get a mix of smooth and friz Sizzles and smooth and friz Silkies
and if I breed a friz Cochen to a Silkie then I have about 5 years and...
