Here's a pic of a water system that was given to me. It's from a defunct chinchilla farm, and already has the saddles installed. I have chicken nipples to use with it (I already tested and they fit perfectly).
I have everything I need to get this up and running except for a way to attach...
*****WELCOME TO MY LITTLE FAIRY CHICKENS*****
I have Seramas in a wide variety of colors, including smooth, silkie and frizzled feathering. Some are booted.
Most breeders are class B, but I also have a few A's and C's. Any class size can potentially produce any other class size. I have...
I have my settings to receive email notification of private messages, and I normally get them instantly, but since yesterday they are very slow, some not appearing in my email inbox until several hours later. I get a lot of pm's, and it's getting confusing.
AD IS BEING SUSPENDED UNTIL THEY START LAYING AGAIN. THEY'VE PRETTY WELL STOPPED FOR THE SUMMER. I'LL UPDATE AND BUMP THIS POST WHEN THEY'RE BACK IN PRODUCTION.
I have a limited number of Midget White turkey hatching eggs for $5 each.
These are not hatchery stock- they are the real thing...
Everyone has a story! No matter who you talk to, they can tell you something interesting about themselves.
You probably have a lot of things you could tell, like I do. What is something you've done, or has happened to you, or maybe there is a great story to tell about one of your ancestors in...
There are two kinds of bantams.
There are the kind that have large fowl counterparts, such as game bantams and big games. Cochin bantams and big cochins, and so on.
Then there are the "True" bantams. These are bantams that have no LF counterpart, such as Sebrights and a number of others...
What kind of scales do I need?
I looked around on Amazon and found hunting scales that you hang from a tree that have a hook. But I would need something to put the turkey in to attach to the hook - like a burlap bag, maybe? Would that work?
There are so many of these, it's confusing.
I know that Olive Eggers are any dark egg breed crossed with any blue/green egg breed.
But I've seen mentions of F2 and F3 etc Olive Eggers to get other colors of eggs. I've seen some pics of those eggs from the succeeding generations and they are...
I use plastic totes with a hole cut in one end for nest boxes. I put shavings inside. All the hens use these except for one group.
I have a White Marans roosters with some black hens split for white. These hens are laying beautiful dark eggs. But they won't use the nest box. They lay on the...
I got the idea awhile back to divide my blog into sections-
The main blog with general poultry stuff, DIY articles, etc: http://agricommunity.com (which will need to be edited since the Marans stuff is going to be moved to it's own section)
And a Serama section, which is here...
I have 4 Serama roosters for sale.
The 2 bigger ones are $25 each.
The 2 smaller ones are $35 each.
I have not been handling these, so it will take a few days of gentle handling to turn them into loving pets. They are specifically bred to be tame, so they get that way pretty easily.
CASH...
I have turkeys about 2 months old now. I hatched them from purchased eggs.
Until yesterday they have been completely vigorous and healthy. Today there were 2 dead ones, and several more seem slightly listless, but otherwise don't seem sick. There are no symptoms that I can detect.
Any clues?
I'm clearing out some extra chickens so I can get my fall breeding pens set up. I'm between Wichita Falls, TX and Waurika, Ok

For decades CX were THE meat bird of choice, but now there are so many new ones hitting the scene.
There are Freedom Rangers (same as Red Rangers, I think),
Black Rangers,
Dixie Rainbow (aka Rainbow or Pioneer)
Bresse,
and many more.
If any of you know of others, could you list them...
Looking for the following hatching eggs at affordable prices
Isabel and Calico Silkies
Frizzled Polish (any color variety is fine)
English Orpingtons
Silver Pheasants
Tuxedo and Pied Coturnix quail
I covered a resin shelf unit with hardware cloth and welded wire. Those are underbed storage boxes holding the litter.
I'll install an auto water system using horizontal nipples when I can get to it.
Eventually I'll make more of these. They would also make good breeding cages for quail. And...
One pair of Wheaten Marans started eating their eggs. Naturally it was Wheatens, those are the ones I'm getting the most hatching egg orders for. Further proof of Universe Vindictiveness is, this hen produces some of my darkest Wheaten Marans eggs.
There's a reason I keep around piles of...
