I have these 2 little adorable Serama sisters. Snow White started setting on eggs about a week ago... Her sister, Ginger, joined her after about 3 days. No bickering or fighting so far that I've seen. Will they continue to set together and raise the chicks? Has anyone else had this experience...
Do NOT open your incubator if you have external pips. After the initial pip is a resting period for the chick. Sometimes this will last for 24 hours before they start to zip. If you feel that you need to add some water through the vent, that will be fine. Once the chicks who have pips are...
You can intervene as long as there are no other pips in any of the other eggs. I probably would if I could make sure that no others have a pip going on.
I would watch a little while to see if those two pips progress. If so, the humidity rises once those eggs have hatched. I've had too much humidity in the Brinsea Mini Advanced after two or three chicks hatch and then they are unable to get dry. If you do feel you need to do something to up...
I use the Brinsea for 7 eggs and a Little Giant for my overflow. I lay the eggs on their side once I take out the turner at day 18. Maybe I can figure something out.
Yes, I had that happen with one of my chicks on the last incubation. The other one it happened to, we decided to help out and she has lived. Funny, she is smaller than all the other chicks but has done well.

There needs to be something that we can use that will keep the eggs up right when the other chicks hatch and try to roll them around. I found they had trouble with that the Last Hatch too. Any ideas?
How did your hatch go or are you still waiting? Have you tried turning your eggs with the pointed side toward the water pot? I had one egg that was trouble turning but when I repositioned it, it worked. Good luck.
What do you think the reason was for dying so late? I'm hatching now. It is day 24. I had 2 hatch on day 22, 2 on day 23 and I have 3 eggs left. Just went into day 24. I did the float test and they look like they are viable. This hatching thing is for the birds! Aaarg!
Okay... I'm excited to say that last night between 10 pm and 2:00 am two of the chicks hatched. I haven't been able to get them out ot the Brinsea yet because 3 more piped and now I'm waiting on them. Ugg... why couldn't they all have a synchronized hatch?
Wow... That will be interesting. Can't wait to follow and see how you do. Make sure and post photos. I'm at the "end" of day 21 for 7 eggs I have in a Brinsea Mini Advance. They are eggs my friend bought from ebay. Not well packaged and most were broken. The ones that were not broken had...
