So I ordered the surprise box from Cackle hatchery. I know most of the breeds but could use some help on a few. They are 6 weeks old as of today.
I'm thinking this is a blue sumatra... any guess on the gender?
I think this is a delaware.
White rock or jersey giant?
Black australorp...
Thanks, the hens are super sweet but the roosters are something else lol. I have had to separate one because he would breed with any female who dared to come off of the roost. To top it off I think the injured girls are the only ones laying right now at 19 weeks.
So in one of my flocks I have 2 turkens with breeding/pecking wounds from some very hormonal young roosters. One has a puncture on the back of the neck that I have been cleaning and keeping clean. The other has a big open wound/gash on its chest. I have been cleaning it with antiseptic and...
Ok so help identifying would be great! In in the first picture I don't know if they are white rocks or white jersey giants. They were smokey colored but still not dark when I received them. The one up front has more black than the rest though.

And the...
So, I have 2 pairs of African Geese from Cackle hatchery. After searching on Google I kept finding conflicting answers. I was wondering at what age do they start to lay. Thank you in advance!

I didn't really like geese until I bought my first pair of african goslings. Now I find myself running after wild geese yelling at them "let me pet you"!!! It's actually kind of sad...
I have had 2 die so far. The first broke his leg while being shipped and died during the third night. The next was a red chick (I'm thinking a sex link) that was unexpectedly trampled overnight.
On the other hand, 22 ducks? That's amazing! My cayuga ducklings are adorable and super nice. I...
Thanks. I thought the fayoumis were just being nasty. I probably shouldn't raise an aggresive breed with a passive one. At least that isn't the problem though. They seem to help her eat.
I have a buff silkie who, as of this morning, has a problem with her neck. She has her neck pointing towards the ground and her head is upsidedown. It seems as if her neck is broken. The only part that makes be think that it isn't a fracture is that she can move and get around okay. She can...
