Yesterday I discovered a hard swollen area on my silked serama's tail. There was some missing tail feathers with an ulcerated sore. She doesn't seem to pick at it a lot. She is kept in a cage with another serama that seems alright. They are seven months old raised inside since three months old...
I saw this white headed sparrow today and took a few shots. The pics are not so good since the bird was far away but you can see it's a sparrow with a lot of white in it. Has anyone ever seen a sparrow other then brown?

On Friday out of 25 serama eggs only one hatched. I called him/her "Solo" I was wondering by the down if anyone can tell what color he/she might end up being.
The breeder said it came from his white pen but I was hoping he/she would have a little color and not be solid white...
Here are the latest pictures of Daisy and Delilah. They are indoor chickens. They will be five months in August. Here they are meeting my cat Dusty for the first time.
Dusty is 16 and doesn't really care to much about them. Serama's are so friendly.
I just love these girls...
I have a Genesis 1588. I had it up to 99.5 then added my eggs. I did have the cover off for awhile while I placed the eggs in but it's been three hours and the temperature is only up to 92 my eggs are in there but I have only done this once before so I can't remember if it takes along time to...
I'm receiving my first batch of serama eggs this week and from the serama group I belong to I have been told it helps to place the eggs on a hot/cold pack (not activated) in the incubator to keep a more constant temperature. Has anyone tried this?

Does anyone know of anyone who breeds Serama chickens in the New England area? I would love to buy one or two hens to be kept as indoor pets.
Feel free to post or email me privately at [email protected]
Thanks you so much.
