She laid the day after we got her, but her eggs have been sporadic and she hasn't given us any in a couple of days. She runs around, scratching and such. Her tail is up as long as the others are too close or it is only one of the other hens.
We recently introduced a new Australorp hen to our flock. She is doing well tends to be a loner and holds her tail down when she is around the other hens (3 - 1 Australorp & 2 Barred Rocks)
Is this odd?
We have a year old Astralorp, Ethel. She was this age when we bought her. She was laying fine for the first few days and then she stopped. She never roosted unless we put her up there. Her vent got messy so we cleaned her a couple of times. It was yellow and runny.

One of our Australorps had yellow runny poop about a week ago and has not layed an egg since then. I have bathed her bottom so there is no poop stuck on her. Does anyone know what is going on with this girl?

Toss eggs once medication is started? Or all eggs total?
We have only had them for a little over a week and were getting good eggs (7 so far) from both of our Australorps, but we have not eaten any of them yet.
One of our hens, a year old Australorp, just today had had goopy yellow poop stuck to her bottom. I wiped her off this afternoon. She was very easy to catch, not normal. We came home tonight she was under the coop, laying on the ground. Again she was easy to catch and we put her in the coop...
We were wondering, what is the correct consistency/color for chicken poop?
Some of our birds are releasing very light brown/ almost red liquid like poop and some are releasing green brown clumps.
One of our Ausralorps had yellow poop stuck to her, she is also our only bird refusing to roost...
We were wondering, is it dangerous or overly unhealthy to feed chickens bird seed?
This would not be their main source of food, we use layer feed.
The bird seed idea came when we pondered what we could give them when there is snow on the ground or use the packed blocks in the coop during...
Lucy still won't let the others roost. We're going to try to rework the roosts to make everyone happy. I don't like the other three sleeping in the floor.... - WPC2
