What are the characteristics that you can tell it's a boy? We thought it was a hen by the way it acts. The OEGB calls the others over when it finds it food like a rooster does and is the so called leader of the pack. Don't know if that matters.
I know I've posted this before, but maybe now that they're bigger someone will be able to tell me for sure. Still not 100% on the 2 black ones. I don't have a picture of the other black one, but it's just a bit smaller and acts more "dainty". Same black one in each picture. How about the...
My Mom bought a couple scare crow sprinklers to put in her garden beds, they were scratching up the seeds The sprinklers are motion activated and work really well, but you have to be careful too or you'll get soaked!
The one with the white face acts like a rooster and is much bigger. We just gave them some left over salad and he called them over when he found the good stuff!
So my last thread I posted I got help with the breeds, now I wonder if they old enough to tell if they are hens
1st pic of 2 old english game bird bantams
2nd is a Mille Fleur d'uccle
Thank You! The 1st and last one are the same, my picture order got messed up, sorry. We think it's a hen and thought she was a d'uccle millie fleur!
The other 2 pictures are also the same chick, OEGB is a great guess, but we think it's a rooster by the way he acts and he has a small comb...
They're about 3 weeks old, what we think is a rooster is getting really scraggly and looks like a vulcher Any ideas on breeds, age, roo or hen?
They came from the asst. banty bin.
I agree with the person who said to contact your local 4-h extension office, they will direct you to someone who will know how to do it. When i was in 4-h my leader had an iron and would do it for $5 charge. I still take kids to her to have it done, usually around 2 weeks old.
We have 1 rooster, 2 white leghorn hens, 1 banty/silkie
Here's a pic of our rooster and the banty, not sure what the rooster is, any help would be really great
Poor little chick we gave them some ants and one pecked it a few times, then ate it. She just started "screaming" and gulping that lasted for a little while, do you think it bit her? We made her drink and eat some bread. I hope she's ok.
Ok they calmed down and we could hold onto them today. Could you help figure out what they are, and when will we be able to tell what sex they are? Thank you!

Thats what we thought she was, they are gorgeous!
All chickies have 4 toes, I will try and get better pics, I had close-ups and they were blurry!
We bought 3 chicks on Sunday, 3 Banty's from a feed store. We aren't quite sure how old they are, they have their feathers on their wings and 1 has feathers on "her" feet. This one also has had a bit of poop stuck on her bottom, we've soaked her in warm water to get it off. They have chick...
