I have two Females Cayuga ducks, about 17 weeks old, and they were introduced to our flock of ducks at about 8-9 weeks old. Our flock consists of 1 male jumbo pekin, 1 female pekin, 1 male Swedish/runner, and 1 female Swedish runner. At first, the adult ducks were just scared of the ducklings...
Hi, I have a little barn/coop with 6 6-week old chicks (Colombian Wyandotte, leghorn). I recently bought a buff brahma/Cochin bantam mix from Craigslist and don't know how long it takes for them to get used to each other. Right now the brahma/Cochin (~5 months old) is in a large dog cage inside...

8 months? They are probably 4-5 pounds already. (Females). But we have them in a cage at night with pellet food. But we have 10 acres for them to forage as well as a 1 acre pond.
@Darnbunnies you may be right with your response, but is it really fair to be so harsh and condescending to them? They didn't know, therefore they couldn't have known to do anything. Nature can be cruel, and so can be like you. (Darnbunnies)
So we have news. "Lucy" is a really a male. (Louis). We put out a baby pool, and we caught him mating with one of our females. It's just disappointing that it's not a female, especially since the place we got it from told us it was a female. Well, we will still love him. Hopefully he gets a long...
Nothing's wrong. But I just wanted to see if there was an explanation for this. And the dad is purely Pekin and I was told the mom was Swedish/Runner, so idk.
Hi, this is supposed to be a Swedish/Runner/Pekin (my duck went broody) and the duckling looks like a female Rouen duck instead. Also, instead of that blue feather it has a black one. Can someone help me?!
Hi, I have three ducklings who are over 6 weeks old, and I wanted to know when their genders are distinguishable. What age do they usually get there curled feather if they are males?! Thanks!
(The mom is with her babies)
Hi, I just bought a 7 pound hanging feeder for my ducks. I read somewhere that raising duck feeders to their neck level (about) is good for them. Is this true? And l I forget why it is good so could you let me know. Thanks!
So these are the surviving three ducklings (Swedish/Runner/Pekins). The two look as we had envisioned. The light brown one, however, looks more like a female Rouen/Mallard. It is really weird because we don't have those breeds. Does anyone have an explanation?
The colored ones are Swedish/Runners (they are sisters). The other are Pekins (one female and the lucky male). We also have another female Pekin now as well as 3 Swedish/Runner/Pekin ducklings.
Sadly, the happy duck from the pictures above has been put to sleep. A couple days ago, we noticed a couple flies bothering Daphne. We didn't think much of it, we thought maybe they just bothered her. This morning we looked at her, and saw that her whole back half of her body was featherless and...
