@Ol Grey Mare the hens don't squat instantly when he approaches them but when he grabs some of their necks, they don't put up much fight, but some of the others do put up a fight

ok so I found out today that my rooster is now mating with the hens.. ugh. so does this mean that my hens r gunna start laying soon? and btw I know that hens don't need a rooster to lay eggs

@Ol Grey Mare we didn't expect a rooster, we were just hoping for hens but that rooster just happened to get mixed in. he was nice at first but he turned into a monster. I guess we'll just have to think about giving him to a friend of ours.

I have a golden comet rooster, he's only about 4 1/2 months old and he's very pretty, but he's aggressive toward people.. including me. he charges at me from across the yard and runs after me when I clean the coop! I've done nothing to him, I'm the one who feeds him and keeps his home clean...

I would check around where the chickens hang out a lot because they will lay eggs in a favorite and comfortable bush or a pile of grass or weeds that they like

u should put golf balls in their nesting boxes to encourage egg production

they will probably go to the original coop bc that was there original home. but if u block that off and maybe throw some scratch or treats in the second coop, they will go there and eventually feel comfortable there. but u want to do this gradually bc u don't want to stress them out

it's completely normal, they crow when ever they feel like it, but how sweet he is.. ur just lucky. my roosters nothing close to sweet, he will charge at me and peck me!

@krista74 the roosts r a bit higher than the nesting boxes, so I think I'm just going to block off the nesting boxes with cardboard so they r forced to sleep on the floor or roosts
