Thank you for the excellent info. I will get the antibiotics and keep our fingerscrossed . And yes a punctured air sack seems much better than lung. Thought it was a bitfar back for lung, but I wasnt aware of all the airsacs. The video link from casportpony was very informative. Thanks again!
Sorry the pics arent very good. And the water additive does not apparently have antibiotics. .Suggestions on what is best for antibiotics? And where I can get them?
Good advice. I posted pics
Thanks!:welcome
Last night we had a raccoon attack. They came out earlier than usual and my daughter had not locked up the coop yet. Lost 2 bantam roos and had one hen beat up but alive. She seemed to have minor injuries so we locked her up with the rest for thenight. Upon further close inspection this morning...
I believe they are more like a pea comb. Just a tiny row of bumps. I'm going to have to take those pics soon. The one time I had my phone back there and thought about it, they all ran under the coop like they were camera shy!
I'm totally not sure if I named the comb right. I really am still a newbie and not nearly as knowledgeable as I should be. They just have the smallest type of comb. Whatever that one is.
Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm sorry I've not been back on to respond sooner. It's been CRAZY around here. I still haven't managed to snap some pics but the birds in question are marked just like the Delaware in that last photo posted by broodymama2 but they have the small peacombs...

Thank you for the helpful and hopeful opinion! Yes they do look very similar. Just not nearly as much black around their necks. I'll try to post a pic.
I also agree with not eating them! I love chicken, but it's different when they are more your kids pets than a food source! Lol! Thanks...
Hello all! Been a while since I posted last. Have had some MAJOR raccoon problems and lost several of our chickens this spring. Very sad (with the exception of our VERY nasty roo we couldn't seem to dispose of ourselves no matter how many times we got punctured by those nasty spurs!). We are...
Hi heychix! I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the addiction! I am also in Pataskala and still a bit of a beginner too. We've had a slowly growing flock for a couple of years. Started with 2 stray roos. Added some hens. And now raised our first chicks this year. Just went through our...
Hello fellow Buckeyes! I'm not a frequent poster, but I just wanted to pop in and say hi, and that I hope everyone is thawing out a bit from this long cold winter. We all made it through this winter intact. We started the winter with 10 chickens and ended with 10 but two of our girls decided...
Hi silkiesensation! In case you were wondering, yes the silkie/ polish pullet turned roo is one of yours. Lol( No worries, I know there is always some guessing involved in sexing young birds.) I took two of the polsilkies and the full size ee and Anna. All four are doing great and have filled...
Hello fellow Buckeyes! I'm not exactly and old familiar "face" ,as it were, But as a new- ish member I just wanted to say Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays to all!
I have really enjoyed learning from everyone and appreciated all the advice.
Things in our micro chicken adventure have been nice...
Chicka Pucella,
Thanks so much for responding to my post! I did, however, manage to fill out our tiny flock already. We adopted a little girls pet arucana(x) who needed a home and 3 frizzled Cochin we lucked upon. I would love to add more, but I don't think we have the space. Thanks so much...
I am posting in the hope that I will be lucky and someone in the central Ohio area might have some pullets/ hens that they are willing to sell. I have had to speed up my time table on building my little pet flock. Due to my roos chicken tractor acquiring some rather large holes (dumb dog!) and...
Hi! I'm a pretty new member with very little chicken knowledge, but dogs, now you're barking up my tree! I don't have any specific dogs, but some suggestions for places to look. I know you said puppy, but don't neglect looking at adults, you might even get lucky and find one already used to...
