Thanks to both of you! Gosh this is so much more stressful than when I gave birth to my human children! LOL

    First time incubating....need help!

I can see her beak and the peeping is not from her....her beak isn't moving. Did I lose her? Or could she be resting? Should I help?

    First time incubating....need help!

j here's where our first one is at this point. It's been around 12 hours since she pipped, maybe a little longer. I still hear peeping but not sure if it's from this one or another. Saw a lot of movement last night when she broke thru. Today is quieter but she's still talking to me. Everything...

    First time incubating....need help!

Got rid of it and got a much better light for checking development. What a difference! I still have a few in question that are too dark to see into, my guess is either because the chick is too big and will hatch soon (the only thing I see is the air pocket). And one absolutely did the pip...

    First time incubating....need help!

The only pics I've found of bad eggs cracking have like brownish goo. Ugh I hate the Internet sometimes. I don't even know if there is to be ANY moisture of any kind coming out if it actually is hatching properly. Maybe this whole thing was a bad idea because I feel like a murderer right now...

The more I see it the worse it looks. Just the picture I mean, not the egg itself. Sad. This is bad, right?

    First time incubating....need help!

I don't know if my pic is posting here but I have activity within the last 12 hours or so....but I think it's bad. The egg is cracking for sure but what looks to be a yellow goo is coming out. Can't see anything else. This egg for sure looked viable 2 days ago but I'm thinking it's not anymore...

    First time incubating....need help!

Yeah my silly hens are laying eggs in the boxes and sleeping there, nothing else. So I shouldn't do a "staggered hatch?" What do people normally do with the eggs laid after the first group are added to the incubator? Mine (3 hens, 2 roosters) seem to lay 1 MAYBE 2 a day (total). We originally...

    First time incubating....need help!

I'm wondering if my boxer pup may be why the chickens didn't lay on the eggs as much. They love to play together (weird to me). Starting on the 1st of October I've been very diligent in taking all the eggs out ASAP. hopefully since they've (the early ones) developed well up to this point they'll...

    First time incubating....need help!

Here's my problem: we tried to let our hens incubate the eggs themselves for quite a while, but I'm not sure how long. They only seemed to sit on them at night so we got an incubator. All the eggs had only a yolk at that point and not knowing any better I didn't mark the dates or anything...
