I really want the non bearded. They will be integrated with standard chickens and I have had both and prefer the non bearded as they see better without all that fluff in their face. :)
Tropical chickie's only has bearded. I have tried contacting Idigo egg but have never recvd a response. so the hunt for non bearded continues :) but now I am looking for a white and a black. :)
**Update** I have integrated her with the flock. First put her out again in her cage and this time the only one who tried to go after her was my other sebright. It has been a week now and I only had her in the cage for a day and a half and she fit right in. It did take her a couple days to...
I don't know. He didn't say exactly a name of it. He took a swap of the junk from her nostril and was gone for 20 minutes so I don't know what he did and came back and said she has an upper respiratory infection but it will respond to antibiotics and he went and got the antibiotics and I gave...
He is, it took me forever to find him. I try to stay on top of stuff with my girls. it has been a long road of hits and misses and a lot of learning and I still learn new stuff all the time. I have lost chickens in the past from sickness so I do my best to keep their coop and run area clean and...
my vet tested it at the office and that is how he determined which antibiotic to give her. he is an avian vet. I have done plenty of reading on respiratory disease as this is not the first time I have dealt with it. She has also had humidifier treatments with oxine. I also use oxine for cleaning...
update - ok so I gave it a try and my girls tried to hurt her through the cage. I figured I had a rooster or she had something wrong with her. took her inside and picked her up and looked her over and she sneezed, so i listened to her chest and she was wheezy. took her to the vet and she had an...
I brought her home last night and have her inside. Today after work I will take her outside with the girls and see what happens. Than make a plan B...lol
I will be picking up her other sister tomorrow so Wednesday I will reunite them and let you know how it goes. Crossing my fingers they do remember - they are my only bantams besides my one silkie in a flock of standards.
I had two silver sebright sisters. One of them suddenly died just a couple days ago. I Happen to be able to get one of her other sisters - They have not seen each other for about 5 months. will they remember each other? they were together for the first 3 months after hatching.
Thanks and no worries.....it's hard when you are just typing since you cant put emotions in it, sometimes I find myself re-reading and just re-doing the whole thing lol
I know silkies cannot be sexed or very well at least. The last one I got was about 3 months old so I was able to tell it was a pullet. Unfortunately she was taken by a hawk. So I am on the hunt to get another one. Everyone has bearded. the non bearded are hard to find.
I am looking for black non bearded silkies in central florida, female as I am not allowed roosters in my area. If anyone knows of someone who breeds them or has some available please let me know.
Thank You
