A friend of mine advised me that it was a good idea to not to handle chicks, and to only handle them when absolutely necessary. I want my chicks to be people friendly and not be skiddish. Can you handle chicks too much? Any help/advice would be appreciated.
We are now the proud parents of four new daughters...
Ginger and Tic-Tac: Rhode Island Reds (my son and I named these two) and
Watermelon and Kiwi: Speckled Sussex (named by my wife and granddaughter)
Hello everyone! We are new to BYC and are looking forward to starting a new adventure in raising chickens. Our girls (two Rhode Island Reds and two Speckled Sussexes) should arrive in June. We are so looking forward to raising them from chicks and having them as pets.
I should begin...
We are getting ready to start raising chickens. Our chicks (two Rhode Island Reds and two Speckled Sussexes) should be here around the first of June. Any advice for first time /beginner chicken owners. We are going to be raising chickens for eggs.
Thanks so much,
Mark and Tiffany
