I have 2 roosters. 1 banty who is in charge of 10 standard girls and 2 bantys. Then I also have 1 showgirl roo who has his 2 showgirl hens to look after. So far so good.. My showgirls tend to keep to themselves so I think that helps.
I don't know if anyone else has seen this but..
I happened to be tuned in when a music video for Ke$ha's 'your love is my drug' came on. And just as I was about to change it.. a showgirl popped up on screen! It just made me smile because I have 3 and people are always raving about how UGLY...
I work with a woman who has raised and bred Swissys for years. She's never had any issues with the dogs and her chickens, but I'm sure it's like any dog and depends on what they're use to how they're raised. Beautiful dogs though and very smart!
So sorry about your dog! Glad you caught the bugger though! Wow. I live in New England so I've never seen a toad that big!! I work at a veterinary clinic and we've seen several cases of mushroom poisioning but the toads and frogs we have up here are harmless. They just cause a LOT of drooling.

I don't know, I hear it may reach 60 this weekend! If it does I'm certainly going to take advantage and clean the coop out really well before winter really gets here. What part of Maine are you in? I'm in the central/southern area.
Hey there neighbor! We had our first snow dusting this morning too! I was quite suprised, and then quite amused watching my chickens experience their first snow experience! People have told me they don't understand how someone can love a chicken, but any animal that can make me laugh as much...
