Ok so here is the story - we ordered 6 hens last winter and this spring we received the exact breed and sex for all six. Healthy beautiful birds. (Meyer Hatchery) 2 brown egg, Plymouth Rock and Buff Orpington, 2 white egg, brown and white leghorns, and two blue egg layers, Easter Eggers.

We have been using Tractor Supply brand Wood shavings since our chicks arrived and thought they were the norm. However as we just ran out ... I went local to a feed store and bought a bail of TOP Bedding and it very fine compared to the other shavings from TSC. To me, I feel the finer stuff...
What is the latest ideas on white paint for inside of a new coop? I have read Kilz but thought that was primer?
Also plan to paint coop and run Barn Red with white trim, so hoping the white I use can be the white for everything..

Trying to figure out how much medicated start and grow I will need for 8 chicks for the first 7 weeks. This is what is recommended by the hatchery our chicks are coming from. Do I need a 25 lb bag or go with the 50 ? I have no idea what to expect ... Thanks !
