hi,
I understand chickens need to gain some extra weight to help build fat stores in the body which insulates from cold.
I see people like corn as it is calorie dense and chickens like it.
As I went to buy corn for my chickens I realized I didn't know which form was the most digestible...
I hadn't thought of that, thank you. Who knows they just had a new baby and maybe he doesn't want the responsibility but doesn't want to say will you take care of them. That could be true.
I keep wondering about the geese too. It never occurred to me to ask to buy the chickens. I will let...
Wow they are really pretty. About how long does it take to get full grown? I see a difference between the 5 and the mystery hen. You can see she is thicker in her shoulders and her neck. Is there any way to estimate the age of a chicken?
ok thank you. They are Ida Browns and they are thinner the the hen that showed up.
I have had cockatiels only and seeing/feeling the keel wasn't good but they were cockatiels right.
Thank you.
Thank you. Yes, I realized that about the stairs about an hour after I wrote it. The door stays closed now. I don't know where they will find shelter when outside of the coop as they roam a large area and the woods. It remains to be seen. The neighbor has geese and they have gone into that...
I have looked at many feeds. I find one I really like but it isn't in stock anywhere. TSC stores appear to be sold out across New York...
Oh wait, Amazon is selling 10 pound bags for $33. Arcata Pet Supplies, shipping about $60.
What the heck?
Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.
I have almost the same issue as the person who started the original thread but a little different situation.
The chickens had a great summer, they are somewhere between pets and well, chickens. Anyway, I have gotten quite attached to them especially the older hen who turned up out of nowhere...
