Surprise Chick from Greenfire - What Breed?

Thanks. I really don't know much about the marans yet other than the egg color. I ordered 3 birchen marans and 3 female cream legbars. They sent me 8 additional chicks. I was able to figure out they included 4 Tolbent Polish (this was obvious), 2 Breda Fowl (also obvious) and what I...

    Tolbunt Polish

I ordered 6 chicks (3 cream legbar and 3 birchen maran) from a certain well-known breeder and had them flown in to me same day to cut-down on shipping stress for the wee ones. Well, they sent me a total of 15 day old chicks. Among them are 4 Tolbunt Polish of which I know nothing about. I...

Hi from Massachusetts! I don't think I've ever been in this section of the forum before. Question: Does anyone know a breeder/seller of sky-blue araucana/americana pullets? any help is appreciated.

Not real sure but I think my favorite BO girl is sick =(

clean her up back there and also look under her wings at the base of the feathers for what looks like dandruff or broken flakes of feather shaft. I went through a horrible bout of feather lice and she was so weak by the time it was figured out she could barely stand much less walk. if she's...

    Chicken honking when breathing! Help!

I have had this happen a couple of times off and on the last two years with one of my girls. It always seemed to be during hot, humid weather. I always kept a sharp eye on her listening for any rasping that might indicate a respitory infection developing. It never did. It always passed. The...

does she sound raspy in the chest at all? have you checked for feather lice at shaft of feathers? has your flock ever been wormed? parasites can cause them to weaken and start walking wobbly.
