They actually layed eggs last winter. Only 4 chickens but still got at least one egg a day...even on the coldest days...
Pretty roomy coop too. They also roam daily if it's not bad out. They get the same layer feed they've always been fed.
My chickens haven't layed an egg in almost a week. Nothing has changed in their diet or routine. They aren't molting either. I thought maybe the heat but they were laying on hotter days so that can't be it. I have no idea what the problem could be. They are a few years old but this was sudden.
I introduced our french bulldog "Cheese" and our very old rottweiler "Grimm" to our chickens a few weeks ago. I was a little worried because Cheese is a porky ball of energy and Grimm is partially blind lumbering goof.
Im really new to chickens. They came with the house we bought in October. We recently covered 2 of the 3 sides of the attached run with plastic for a windbreak. The run also has a shingled roof. Im still worried as it is 16 degrees out & a bit windy right now....
Thanks Samantha! I'm not exactly sure how I would get them out of the nesting boxes because of the way the coop is built. The boxes have a sliding door on the outside. I've opened it and would pet them which makes them leave the nesting boxes. I don't think they were happy lol. There is a...
