I have a chance to add a BLRW roo to my flock of 15 girls....but I am not sure if it's a good idea pending age of the roo. My girls are 11 weeks old, so I am wondering what is the oldest I should go with a cockerel/roo? Am trying to figure out ages now and I am aware of the quarantine period...
I have 3 Dixie Rainbow 7 week old pullets.....and I do not think that they are Dixie Rainbows. All the photos I have seen of them shows them to be multicolored, all different patterns, etc. My 3 are just white. I am not sure if after they molt they will change colors but arter a LOT of time...
So, my first flock of chickens, hooray! I started with 16, lost 1 (appeared to be weak and sickly, was expected) and the remaining 15 look great. However, I am thinking I might be really, really lucky and have gotten all pullets - and some were straight run - and am wondering (approxmately)...
