12 week old cockerel with difficulty walking

my 12 week old Breese cockerel walks oddly. I’ve had him since he was about 3 weeks old. He was never as active as my other chicks. At 12 weeks he is the largest bird in my grow out pen of about 20 chicks, but he mostly just sits on the ground. He doesn’t even get up or defend himself when...

I had told my husband maybe he needs some girls his own size.... I'll have to see if I can find a few bantams.

    Broody rooster????

I had thought the same thing about hormones. So far every issue I've experienced as a chicken owner has been pretty easily researched and I've worked through it. This one, however, has me stumped. I'm almost tempted to put some fertile eggs under him just to see what happens... The article...

    Broody rooster????

Has anyone ever seen this? My boy is about a year old. He is a bantam Cochin. Sweet little guy who, sadly has never (that I'm aware of) been successful in mating with my 10 full sized hens. About 2.5 weeks ago he began sitting in the coop on the nest all day. I immediately separated him from...

Can anyone tell me what kind of roo I have? He was a rescue that I've had for a few months.

Thank you all so much for the input. He is such a sweet little boy. I hate that someone dumped him in the woods, but I'm thrilled to have him (I did 30 days of isolation when I brought him home and he has been perfectly healthy).

Or maybe this is a better pic to show his size compared to my BR.

Can anyone tell me what kind of roo I have? He was a rescue that I've had for a few months.

This is him with my girls (not bantam) and my Schnoodle, who may also think she is a chicken!! Does this help? He is significantly smaller than my girls.

    Hello from St Augustine FL

I'm pretty new to having chickens. I currently have 3 BR and 6EE pullets as well as what I 'think' is a bantam Cochin roo (he was a rescue... Dumped in the woods). From reading a lot of the threads, I feel lucky that I got ALL healthy females from the feed store. I LOVE having chickens. They...

@junebuggena do you think it is a bantam Cochin? You really seem to know chickens! I'm very new to this. It truly doesn't matter too much as I'm not planning to breed him. I'm just curious.

Can anyone tell me what kind of roo I have? He was a rescue that I've had for a few months.

Thank you! I think he is absolutely adorable. My husband says he looks like a bowling ball running around our yard. I have 8 full sized pullets and he is a bantam. He has never tried anything with my girls and only crows occasionally. I'm thinking he is pretty young. Oh, and he doesn't have...
