My first coop! Total cost: $0.00

I plan on doing something similar but maybe with a 5 gallon bucket and not connecting it to my hose connection. I always worry that some plastic part will fail when I'm not home and I'll come home to a flood of water. I've read those nipples will work with very little water pressure so the water...

My first coop! Total cost: $0.00

I noticed that you have your coop sitting on concrete blocks with one leg leveled with a small block of wood. I am just starting to build my coop and currently my coop is situated just like your. It's sitting on blocks and I even have one leg propted up like yours, I wasn't sure if this was...

Sponsored Post Keeping Dogs and Chickens - Tips for a Harmonious Introduction.

Thank you so much for the info. I am working on my first coop now and also have dogs. While my dogs will be fenced in a different part of the yard I would like to give this a try, incase someone ever leaves my gate open and the dogs get out I don't want to worry that they will attack my flock.

My concern is I have a cat who likes to roam...

considering a giant window as the entire side of my new coop, any concerns with doing this??

Actually one side of my coop will be up against a slightly sloping hill and it would be perfect to put the window facing that hill and it wouldn't receive much direct sun light at all. Thanks for the tip

considering a giant window as the entire side of my new coop, any concerns with doing this??

All the coop design searches I've done and didn't even think to search for those. Thanks for the info, I love this site. I can't wait to get into the full swing of building so I can post some pics.

considering a giant window as the entire side of my new coop, any concerns with doing this??

So I am in the process of building my first coop and I just saw someone giving away for free a dual pane 5x6 window that slides open and I was considering making it the entire side of one of my walls. I know I would need to intergrade a hardware cloth screen to make sure its predator proof...
