Sorry, I meant the young hen looks similar to a chantecler not the chick.

I've seen chickens go after mice and then eat them. So not sure about a rodent problem in the coop. We keep ours in the coop, free choice with no problems.

My sulmtaler rooster Stewart is probably the most beautiful in my opinion. But my free range girls are my favorites. They are orphs, australorps, EE and other mixes.

We have a barnyard mix and then barnvelders, silver spangled hamburgers and golden duckwing sulmtalers.
