We are hatching bobwhite quail. Have eggs that are dated the 4th, and others the 7th. Obviously, the 4th are getting a little far gone, but crazy enough, we had one hatch today that is doing great. Problem is, one of the 7th eggs hatched yesterday. Chick isn't doing very well. Can't stand up...

What part of them would you need photographed the most to tell?

They are currently inside with a heat lamp on them. We'll be moving them out hopefully tonight. We've had RIRs as babies before and a few other older ones another time. Our chicken coop has just aged a little since and is going to need some work before they go in.

Hubby acquired these little guys/gals from work tonight. Any ideas to the breeds? He was told they are all laying chickens. Hopefully they won't be too annoying being in the house overnight until we get them a place set up tomorrow.

My husband and I purchased some bobwhite quail from a gentleman that raises them about a month ago. We have about 18 of them with a pretty good male to female radio, I'd guess 1 to 3. We got our first eggs about two weeks ago or less. I'm guessing by candling them that they're not fertile...
