I am up here in Ellijay GA and Thank God the Apple festival is over for another year . I might be able to get to town to buy some chicken feed now that the visitor traffic has died down.

Good luck with what ever breed you choose,I tried a little of everything wnen I started and now I only have Dominques, I found out they were hard to find in my area, I finally found a trio,started saving eggs hatching in an incubator and I counted 56 chickens just yesterday, that's not taking...
I have 42 Dominque eggs in the incubator due on 30 July,I will be using the paper egg cartons at lock down. I have had great luck using the egg cartons and it makes clean up a lot easier.

I wound up with a 50% hatch rate my worst ever, I have 20 very lively Dominque chicks and 42 more eggs going into the incubator tonight, as I said before I'll be putting them in my furnished air conditioned basement from here on out as the barn feed room didn't work out so well.
I put 42 dominque eggs from my own stock in the incubator about 3 weeks ago, with all the hot weather here and nightly storms messing with the humidity I didn't give them much hope, Today was hatch morning, my farm helper and grandson went out to check around 0900 this morning and lo and behold...
