OMG! I have worried about mine doing the same darn thing to me but it hasn't happened yet! I'm sure it'll pass fine. My chickens have eaten some really weird crap much bigger than a nose ring and have been ok.
Our first egg! I found it yesterday evening when I checked the lay boxes on a whim. Definitely from a black sexlink, they're our older 2. And I'm pretty sure it was from our Stretch Armstrong. She's a bit bigger than Raven, and has always seemed a bit older.
Unfortunately, our first egg was...
21 birds, wow! And I thought *I* had a zoo with 6 chickens (will have 4 once we rehome the 2 roosters), 2 dogs, a fish, 2 snails, aND a brand new kitten! (Not to mention 7 people lol)

Here's a few more of Spike. IDK why s/he's always so oily looking. But s/he's dry this time, LOL. Original quote from previous post below.

So this is our Spike, who is either a Production Red, or RIR. S/he is about 18 weeks old, and my sister in law is suspecting She might be a He. No crowing (yet), she's not at the top of the pecking order, but does seem to pick on all the chickens below her, and at least attempt with the two who...
