This chick was hatched January 8th so it is about 4 1/2 weeks old now. I've got my fingers crossed for a pullet. I took over incubating this chick on day 20 when I sold my broody hen who had killed all but one egg so I'm a bit attached to this one. Is it still too early to tell? I know Buff...
I'm thinking about crossing my Splash BLR Wyandotte rooster to my White Leghorn hens. What would the egg color be and what color would the offspring be? Thanks!
Picked up this little one from an unmarked bin at Atwoods the other day. Any clue as to what it might be? I'm thinking Barred Rock or Cuckoo Marans but I'm not sure. Also, male or female? Please help!
So I have come to realize that my order from Meyer Hatchery for Speckled Sussex chicks was messed up in September and I now have either Welsummer pullets or Light Brown Leghorns. Can anyone tell me which ones I have or will I have to wait until they start laying to really know?
I have some 8 week old crossbreed chicks that were given to me as eggs for my broody hen to sit. I know 2 are cockerels and 2 are pullets but I have one I'm not so sure on. I was leaning towards pullet but now I'm not so sure.
I just received my chick order from Meyer Hatchery and received a "Meal Maker" chick with my order. I am hoping someone might be able to help me ID her. I will post photo below. Thanks!
I am really not 100% sure on the exact age of this group of Buff Orpingtons. I am a know-nothing-chicken-novice and was told one thing when we bought them but after a little research I am guess these guys are 14-16 weeks old. I know 2 are pullets and 1 is definitely a roo but this one guy has me...
