    My hunk roo

Yes it's awful to look at right around the homestead, hard lesson to learn that the bush hog mower on the tractor can be too harsh in some soil types. We hope to get it restored with reseeding Yet with all the weeds and wild sunflowers we get an abundance of bugs and insects and stuff they love...

    My hunk roo

I feed the well every couple of days in the warmer months so they will get out of the barn and get their own food. This year has been the best natural food maker with plenty of late snows and a great monsoon season .. Love seeing them enjoying themselves and how good they look.

    Flock Dog Reccomendations

Lots of good sharing. I had 7 city GSD when we moved to start our home stead. They were older and trained and the process was easy giving the same structure training about the birds and livestock. They not care personally, they were territorial for predator guarding areas and the animals as...

    overnight without water?

I don't have water out with home hatched ducklings that are loose. Being cared for by their mamma. Even if I did put the little baby drinking stations out. The geese would want to drink out ore them and they be empty anyway. Is it because of the heat lamp you need water all the time? Here...

The rough collie saga continues, any advice would be appreciated

A small panel kennel is a good investment while learning. Can be placed were you want it. And used when you can't supervise out side. When you are out side leash them to you or tie them out where your working. My childhood collie when they were bigger dogs was a vermant killer, wild rabbits...

    Dog / Human Conflict

Honestly even with just barb wire my goats stayed on property for their life time. Food shelter large property to roam on no one looking to leave. One of the llama got off property once through loose barb wire area. Ran up the adjoining hill. I called to the remaining llamas at the fence...

    Dog / Human Conflict

Good luck with the Jenny. My first attempt at pasture guardians for my goats, were 3 intact male llamas. No females for miles and got lucky the llamas were so territorial in a group but only good for single predators they could attack as a group. They would of been ripped up by a pack of...

    Dog / Human Conflict

You might want to put the focus in the right reality. Loss of human life. A running loose pack of dogs have done serious harm to humans and worse children. It was the stance I took when I realized my neighbors were letting this mutt guardian something like Colorado dog?? Loose under my...

Overhead netting combined with electric poultry netting fencing.

Love the work your doing. Not sure it works for not doing it yet. Saw a GIF. Of a rooster sounding the alarm and all the hens rushing into cover to a thick woody hedge. I like the idea that a woody hedge would provide good protection from a bird of prey being tangled up and unable to have a...
