This has been really informative. My chick has a cross beak that grew more offset every day and it was obvious that if I didn't do something, she would eventually be unable to close her beak. I took a coarse nail file an just took off enough to allow her to start being able to close her beak and...
These are beautiful birds! I'm getting overwhelmed by all this information on breeding and crossing.... I am just trying to have a small flock of egg layers! Once again, a chicken venture gone awry! Such an excitingjourney!
Okay experts, here's an updated picture of my "littles" they are supposed to be pullets, but I'm not very chicken savvy... I just moved them outside and they seem to be adapting well. I have a regular light on them and a heat pad at night. (Low heat pad like they use under dog beds) Sent happy...
Thanks! This warning is killer! Put everyone outside tonight and am checking them ever couple hours. They have a heated pad and a regular light but the coop is not totally sealed off. It's down to 60 and they seem to be okay... ought to drop another 10 degrees tonight I'm hoping they will make...
How exciting for you Hannah! You are fortunate enough to be nearly an expert before you even get started! I am 65, never even touched a chicken in my life and now own 6 and am in love!!! You will be an amazing addition to this group! WELCOME!
Wow! She is beautiful! How old is she? How long does it take for them to develop all their feathers? Do you think both of mine are Sizzles, or something else? What do they call the color of my little multi colored one?
Okay, here are the girls... or, should I say I THINK these are girls! And now I'm told they are Sizzles, not Frizzles, which is fine, they are very sweet and I really enjoy them. I'm just trying to find out more about them. Thanks everyone!!![/IMG]
It's pretty confusing! And I'm finding that they change every day! The two I have, one is the white and the other is multicolored (tan, rust, a few dark feathers) although they are only a week or so apart in age, the white one is out growing her daily! Do theyou have bantam and full size varieties?
