Looking for cream Legbar and Black copper Maran eggs OR to come pick up 2 pullets of each. Have an industrial hatcher and unfortunately our local hater is having a heck of a time hatching there's two breeds out.
I am located in Killeen Tx.
Although I'd like to keep him, I have a mixed flock and am not allowed to have roo's within city limits. Hes around 3 months old. He was also supposed to be a hen but accidents happen, lol. Located in Killeen, Tx. Not a common breed so I hope someone picks him up quickly.
I do believe I have a male and a female. I believe the one with a larger nob is a male and also has a higher pitched call. I could be wrong, this one is also smaller than my other one with the smaller knob. I also have a saddleback that I have no clause what gender it is lol. Help?
Thanks for the advice!
I'm gonna check eggs tonight and toss them if none are alive. Unfortunately my 3rd chick died today. I'm super upset about this whole hatch but at least I have 2 healthy thriving chicks. It's kinda putting me off on every trying again
Thank you. I'll have to buy a new thermometer before I try again. Ifbtheres still some lives ones in there, put them back and wait another 3 days maybe?
My humidity during incubation was between 45-50. I raised it during during lockdown which it is now 76.
I just don't know how many days to give up? 25? 26?
Thank you! I tried to candle them after my 2nd one hatched to see any movement but I've never tried to do that so I did four and said nope, it's no use and I'm messing up the humidity so I put them back, grabbed the chick and let them be. Then yesterday I only opened it to help the 3rd chick and...
I'm surprised it happened too. Mine isn't a Bresnia it's a model 1266 from a Georgia manufacturer, I tried to find tg e name but couldn't. It's an older forced air, 'cabinet' incubator.
I really hope more than three hatch, tray one is on day 24, tray 2 on day 23. One of the 3 eggs that made it...
There's no she'll, just the gunk. I separated it from the other two cause they were kinda pecking at it and it was just so tired. I check it regularly though.
Thank you! It still has some residue on it so it's not 'fluffed' like the other chicks. Anything I can do to help with That?
I don't have anymore eggs pipping at the moment either.
Third one was hatching this morning, it looked to me like everything was going okay. My boyfriend called me at work a few hours later saying the chick looked distressed. I told him to mist it once every half hour and that should help. Well I'm sure he forgot and I got home and the WHOLE inside...
Oh that totally reminded me, the temp drop to 97 one time and I don't know how long, I checked when I came home from work, 99. Checked before I went to bed a couple hours later, 97. I stayed up and watched it to make sure it stabilized. That was two days before lockdown.
