Thank you for the link with that information. After reading, we are pretty sure it is egg peritonitis. Her open mouth breathing would be due to the excessive amounts of fluid in her abdomen pushing on her lungs. Her breathing has gotten much better and she is starting to regain strength. We are...
She was not eating her normal amounts. We now know it was because if the amount of fluid pressing inside her abdomen. She gets the best foods. All super fresh.
The vet believes it is egg yolk peritonitis. Does anyone know if it is possible for her to heal from this? Thanks for the suggestion on the grower feed. We are going to try that out. She needs to gain weight and strength quick.

Hey everyone, got a question in regards to my 2 and a half year old Black Spanish Hen (Yolkie)
We recently spotted this purple/grey/black bruise looking spot in her neck.
I say all those colors cuz it depends on what color her neck is lol.
She lives indoor, she is alone since hatched. Never...
So we hatched an egg that we found in the woods and turned out to be a Spanish black or Norfolk black.
With help from this site/forum we got the temperature and humidity levels just right. And so it hatched and now 6 months old the turkey we thought was a Tom for the last 3~4 months now turns...
